Mid-City

As its name suggests, Mid-City is a neighborhood in New Orleans that lies midway between Lake Pontchartrain and the Mississippi River. Home to the annual Bayou Boogaloo Music Fest on Bayou St. John and the New Orleans Museum of Art, there is no shortage of culture, spirit, and local flavor in Mid-City. Even the above ground cemeteries are interesting!

Mid-City is also home to some of New Orleans’ most famous restaurants, retailers, and attractions. Ghost tours can even be found here!
The architecture in this part of town is undeniably New Orleans. Here you’ll find lots of bright color schemes. Historic creole cottages and classic shotgun homes can be found far and wide.

Hop on a red streetcar and cruise the Canal Street line where you can efficiently navigate this beautiful city for miles while soaking up the sites along the way. Or, stay in the area and enjoy all it has to offer! If you are looking for a spirited part of town with no level of boring, Mid-City may be your spot!
